    Hi,

Looking to buy a portable sawmill and interested by Woodland Mills products. Any member has recommendations? For or against any brand or model? I am new to milling and not looking to set up a commercial operation.

    Merci!

    Hi Sylvain,

The Woodland Mills models I have seen operate are quite good. I know a few of our members that have them. My friend Dean Assinewe, who is also an OWA member, has one he bought about a year or two ago, and I sometimes go to his place and help him mill some wood. He likes it a lot and it operates very well. If you look on our Facebook page or in Instagram, I posted some photos a few weeks ago of us using his mill. I've attached a few of those here as well. I'll see if I can get him to log into the forum. His email is: dean.assinewe@gmail.com

I've seen some other models work, including Woodmizer and Norwood. They have good reputations as well.

    all the best,

    John

I have recently purchased a woodland mills 126 this spring and even tho I haven’t been able to use it much it has not disappointed me - it went together well and is easy to use.  I picked mine up directly from their office in port perry and any staff I encountered were a pleasure to deal with.  They come highly recommended by many I have talked to

I’m using a Norwood LM29 and very happy with it. Have been milling for a couple of years but no experience before that. Build was well described in the manual. Currently building a horse shelter and milled 6x6 and 8x8 cedar, poplar, pine and maple and all good. Just need to remember to change the blade often before it starts to dive and mess up your cuts!

Hello , I bought a woodland mills 130 max last year and have used it alot this year with no problems . I bought hardwood blades and milled some large maple that turned out nicely  . A well I have cut a lot of red and white pine . The mill is great but not fast . I recommend it for a hobby mill.

    Thank you Phil.
