Webinar: Beech Conservation Opportunities

  • 11 Mar 2026
  • 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Zoom

On March 4 and 11, 2026, from 12:30-3:00 pm, the Forest Gene Conservation Association (FGCA) is hosting expert speakers from Ontario, Canada and the US to share recent findings, challenges and opportunities related to beech bark and beech leaf diseases. All presentations will be followed by a Q&A to allow for discussion.

Beech leaf and beech bark diseases are making inroads into Ontario's forests, causing mortality, decreased ecosystem function, safety challenges and uncertainty about the future of beech and its management. The understanding around disease spread and forest management practices is evolving; please join us for a deeper dive into the current status of beech diseases and opportunities for conservation.
