The Trimmer family invites you to join them in the woods for an afternoon making maple syrup. The small 12 acre woodlot in West Lincoln has been handed down in the family for 3 generations. Starting as pasture, the property was left on its own and natural regeneration took place.
The family has been making syrup for the past few years, tapping anywhere from 12 – 30 trees. Improvements and adjustments were made over the years to improve efficiency and comfort! Come and see the system in operation, and learn how you can replicate a small system in your own woodlot or just come to enjoy an afternoon in the woods with fellow woodlot members.
Bring your reusable water bottle or mug and try a taste of sap or tea made with sap! (Bring your own tea bag if preferred, black tea will be offered.) Light snacks will be served.
Please dress according to the weather. This event will take place rain or snow. Good boots are recommended, trails can be snowy, wet and muddy.
