Renfrew County Chapter: Walk in the Woods at Tony and Ann Bull’s Woodlot
Renfrew County Chapter members as well as the Lanark & District Chapter of the OWA are invited to a “Walk in the Woods” at Tony and Ann Bull’s woodlot followed by a lunch at their house.
In our 2 km walk in the woods, we will see a variety of forest types, starting with red pine plantations, mostly established in 1986 and one smaller one planted in the mid 70's. There is a variety of naturally established forest, some dating from the last mid-century and some older and quite majestic. There are also open areas, deliberately kept in that state as valuable habitat for species such as the endangered monarch butterfly.
The woodlot it is approximately 8 km west from the Lake Dore Road intersection with Hwy 41. There are two lanes leading in from the road; the street number lane; 1646, leading to the house. The other lane, which we will use, about 300 metres to the east is unmarked.
