Join Canadore College for a dynamic, two-day workshop focused on the fascinating world of fungi, led by experts in the field.

  1. Stephan Lukacic: Explore essential identification techniques and valuable resources for foraging fungi safely and sustainably.
  2. Travis Newman: Join us for a comprehensive workshop on responsible foraging, where you'll learn about the ethics, best practices, and essential rules for sustainable gathering, along with insights on navigating land access.
  3. Violet Butterwort: Delve into the impact of fungal pathogens on forest health, and learn how to effectively monitor and safeguard ecosystems against these threats.
  4. Brittany Rantala-Sykes and Ivan Vincent (Ugly Barn Farm): Explore the essentials of mushroom production for both home and commercial settings, from cultivation techniques to optimizing yields.

Day 1:

Dive into  in-depth sessions where you'll explore essential identification techniques, ethical foraging practices, and the critical role fungi play in forest ecosystems with our experts.

Day 2: 

Spend the day outdoors with experts, gaining hands-on experience in our FSC and SFI-certified forest. Join a guided foraging excursion and learn to identify and gather fungi under the supervision of seasoned specialists.
