Rocks, Trees, & Vines

• Rocks - An interactive talk with geologist Peter LeBaron (engineer and Regional Land Use Geologist, Southern Ontario) of the Ontario Geological Survey, Ministry of Mines who will discuss the geological history of the region. 

• Trees – A forest walk with David Smallwood (OWA member, forester and forestry consultant) who will take us on a walk of the Quinte Conservation Managed Forest site to talk about managing a red pine plantation where techniques were employed to mimic some old growth characteristics in part of the stand, with the remainder of the stand being managed traditionally.

• Vines – The final stop is Potter Settlement Wines and Vineyard where we will sample world award winning wines.  Sandor Johnson will guide us through the wine tasting experience and discuss why his wines are so unique. You also have the option to order a charcuterie board with local products to compliment the wines. 

The meeting place will be sent out with your confirmation email. Additional locations will be sent out the day of the event. 

This is an event for OWA members who may bring one non-member as a guest

• Quinte OWA Members = $20.00 (includes tasting 6 wines and Portage)
• Non-Quinte OWA members = $35.00 (includes tasting 6 wines and Portage)

Note: Quinte OWA Members may bring a guest for an additional $20.00 and Non-Quinte OWA members may bring a guest for an additional $35.00. 

Optional - charcuterie boards 

There is an optional charcuterie board that can be added at a charge of: $20.00 (one board), or $40.00 (two boards) if you are bringing a guest and you would each like your own charcuterie. Please note that there are no cancellations allowed for the charcuterie board option as they cannot be refunded.
