This 2-day course provides first aid training as well as a

practical perspective on dealing with common woodlot

and wilderness injuries through to life threatening

situations. The course is divided between classroom and

practical skills.

The training is provided by Canadian Wilderness Medical

Training and includes training materials and certification

to standard first aid and CPR certification in addition to

the Wilderness First Aid Certification. SFA certification is

provided by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute,

which is recognized by Industry Canada to comply with

National workplace safety Standards.

This course is for individuals to learn first aid and gain an

understanding of decision-making in remote

environments where 911 is hours away.

Although it is being hosted in person, any OWA member can attend. You will need to find your own local place to stay overnight if you travelling a far distance for the event.
