The Lower Ottawa Valley Chapter (LOV) of the Ontario Woodlot Association (OWA) serves woodlot owners in Eastern Ontario near the Nation's Capital. For the local woodlot owner, the LOVC offers opportunities to share ideas and learn by participating in real hands-on and face-to-face events in the field. The chapter supports up to ten local woodlot related events and hosts the spring woodlot tour shared with other neighbouring chapters.
The chapter leads a minimum of four events annually. The AGM is held each year in late winter or early spring. All woodlot owners and the general public, actual and potential members alike are invited to all events . To be a member you need only to have an interest in woodlots and not necessarily own one. We also have professional foresters and potential woodlot owners in our membership.
There are many potential topics to chose from for future events, such as maple syrup production, the tax incentive program detail, chain saw use, maintenance and safety, global warming effects and much more.
If you are located in the Ottawa area of Eastern Ontario and own a woodlot or have related interests you should be a member of this chapter or a neighbouring chapter. It will keep you connected with your peers and helps you to stay informed about the myriad of topics that can affect your valuable woodlot.
